Vaporizers are an up and coming industry with more and more terms coming out. Here is a list of terms from our vaporizer glossary.
18650 – A classification of specific sized lithium ion batteries that are used with APV, mechanical mods, box mods, and more.
306 (aka LR306) – This is one of the various ways we address a 510 thread cartomizer, clearomizer, or atomizer. LR306 threading attachments can give off bigger clouds of vapor.
510 – 510 is the threading of the most widely and popular used electronic cigarettes. Joye has been said to make the 510 thread which works with the ego threading. It does not always work vice versa and is almost a universal threading.
808 or KR808 – Your average ecig you will find at your local gas station or vape shop. They look like a real cigarette.
901 – A type of atomizer with a female thread that are not fitting with a 510 thread.
18650 – The specific size of the Lithium Ion batteries you will find in higher class vaporizers and mechanical mods like the Dovpo Firestone E-LVT. To break it down, the 18 in the numbers represents the diameter of the battery which means 18mm. The 65 is the length of the battery which is 65mm and the 0 represents the battery being cylindrical or round.
Activist – A person or group of people who all come together to protest and get their voices heard about the same social or political change they would like to see. The activist group for vapers are Consumer Advocates for Smoke-free Alternatives Association.
Advanced Personal Vaporizer (APV) – Advanced Personal Vaporizer is an electronic cigarette that is usually bigger and has more settings. These can include variable voltage, variable wattage and batteries of different sizes. They can also go by the name mechanical mods which can be the Tesla VV.
AEMSA – Association of American E-liquid Manufacturing Standards. An organization with all volunteers that are dedicated to making sure there are safe health standards in the manufacturing of eliquids.
Ago G5 – One of the most widely known dry herb vape pen especially for its universal 510 thread connectivity. It is one of the most simple dry herb vaporizers without any of the bells and whistles except for its useful battery count LCD display.
American Wire Gauge (AWG) – Standardized wire gauge to detemine diameter and resistance of the coils of atomizers with the electric wire.
Amperage – The number of electrons moving past a fixed point. It is pretty much the flow of energy in a circuit. The higher the amp, the more capable you are to using low voltages on high resistance atomizers.
Analog – A regular cigarette with dry loose leaf tobacco rolled up.
Aqueous Glycerine (AG) – This is where the vegetable glycerin (VG) is thinned out by deionized H2O which makes it less harsh.
Ascent by DaVinci – Customizable and flexible is the name of the game when it comes to this dry herb portable vaporizer by DaVinci. It has a glass on glass feature for safety and pure vapor taste.
Ass Juice – Not used as much anymore but it’s when an e-liquid is not good tasting at all. This can be because of mixing flavors or just a horrible specific flavor.
Attachment – Any type of atomizer, cartridge, or chamber that goes onto the battery to heat up your liquid or herbs.
Atomizer (aka Atty) – In literal translation, an atomizer is a unit made to emit water, perfume or vapor. It is the heating element which sends the heat from the battery to the element and creates your vapor.
Automatic – The regular KR808 with no button to start the vaporization process. Instead you just take a draw from your pen style vaporizer and it automatically starts through the air pressure from the mouthpiece.
Automatic Shutoff – Some technologically advanced batteries have a protection from shorting the circuit. The battery will automatically shut off after 10 seconds of continuous usage. The power light continually blink for a few seconds.
Battery (batt) – The most important part of your vaporizer besides the atomizer, the battery helps the heating element and starts the whole vaporization process. The size and power of your electronic cigarette matters a lot on the vapor clouds you produce. They can be 350mAh and up to 2600+mAh.
Balloon Bag Attachment – The balloon bag attachment is exactly as it sounds like. You attach it to your favorite dry herb vaporizer that uses this style attachment and watch it slowly fill up. Different table desktop dry herb vaporizers will vary from how long it takes to fill the bag up but it is one of the best tasting and quality vapors.
Box Mod – A vaporizer that comes in a box shape, usually an advanced personal vaporizer.
BP – Big Pharmaceutical companies that make medications like Nicotine Replacement Therapies. They also control social changes due to the size and money of their lobbying campaigns.
Brick and Mortar (B&M) – A physical location where you can go and check out the vaporizers in front of you.
Butane Vaporizers – Butane vaporizers are exactly how it sounds. A vaporizer using butane as the source of heat for it. They come in portable and table desktop vape style.
Car Adapter – A USB charger adapter that is used to charge your e-cig in the car.
Carcinogen – A substance that can cause cancer in human tissue.
Cartridge (Cart) – A plastic or sometimes metal tube with sometimes added absorbent wick in there. This is all to hold your e-liquid in.
Cartomizer (Carto) – These are disposable cartridges with atomizers, the heating element inside of it. This is cleaner taste because of the disposability, which helps keep an atomizer heating up new liquid content. The cartomizer goes in the middle of the atomizer and is usually poly-fill material.
Cartomizer–Single Coil – Usually a thin and skinny cartomizer that uses only 1 coil which is usually the standard.
CASAA – Consumer Advocacy for Smoke-Free Alternatives Association and was created in 2009. It is a 501(c)(4) non-profit organization that campaigns for the rights of e-cig users. It was created by a few members of an online forum to help raise awareness.
Charger – Used to charge your e-Cig battery and give it the juice it needs to power up.
Clearomizer – The newest and cooler version of cartomizers. They are clear and see though to help you check on how much liquid you have remaining before you need to refill. They are very thing and made of plastic. Be careful when using citrus based flavors (lemon or even cinnamon) with a clearomizer because they can crack. A clearomizer usually can hold 1.6-3mL of e-liquid. They come two different kinds, one being a bottom coil clearomizer and the other is a top coil clearomizer.
Click n Vape – One of the most simple dry herb portable butane vaporizer is the Click n Vape. Just unscrew the top chamber, load up your ground up herbs in there, close it up and vape away.
Clouds – Clouds are the really big vapor that is blown out after a big hit. They are created from dense and thick water vapor. When the vapor is blown out, it looks like a big cloud. The thickness of our cloud can be effected by the type of vape you have, the airflow, the juice you are using, your build, the atomizer, inhale/exhale form, and more.
Coil – The main wire at the bottom of your chamber or rebuildable atomizer. The coils are usually made of Nichrome or Kanthal and the unit of measurement for coils are in AWG (American Wire Gauge) where as its measured in the metric system everywhere else around the world.
Connection – The threading piece which connects from the chamber or clearomizer and lets the batter screw on properly. An example of this is the 510 thread.
Crafty Vaporizer – A Storz & Bickels portable dry herb vaporizer that is the sibling of the table desktop bad boy, the Volcano Classic Vaporizer. It is known for its crafty look and efficient vapors.
Custom Mod – Usually an advanced personal vaporizer that is made from anything but the usual parts for vaping. It is very unconventional but can look pretty sweet if done correctly. Some examples can be wooden boxes or even pipes and cases.
Cut-Off – A feature that will stop the heating element on the atomizer on your vaporizer that regulates from the heating element from being on for too long to prevent overheating. A coil can short circuit if it gets too hot. Usually there will be a LED light flashing to let you know the vape cut off electricity.
DaVinci Portable Vaporizer – Focused on reliability and discreetness, it is extremely wonderful. The look and feel of it is like a walkie-talkie with a flexi straw.
DCT – It is a dual coil tank which can range from 3 to 6mL tank. It provides a warmer temperature for more clouds of vapor. However you’re more prone to losing more battery power, losing more e-liquid faster, and sometimes a burnt taste depending on your wick.
Dewick – The act of removing the wick from the atomizer.
Digital Cigarette – Another name for an electronic cigarette.
Disposable E-Cigs – e-Cig that are designed to be used and then thrown away. Usually around 800 puffs each before it finishes. An example of this are the KR808.
DIY (Do-It-Yourself) – Used when someone decides to build on their own project rather than buying a turnkey vaporizer.
DNA – Tiny variable wattage board that is built for modders, to help them build and upgrade their mods. It can product up to 12 watts with up to two running together for a total of 24 watts.
Draw – When a vaper takes a drag or inhales from the driptip on their electronic cigarette.
Drip – Instead of using an atomizer, you can drip drops of your liquid on a cotton wick, which absorbs it and creates vapor when heated up.
Drip Kit – A battery, atomizer chamber, and drip tip, designed specifically for dripping.
Drip On-Demand (DOD) – A little squeeze bottle that helps with the dripping process.
Dripping (DD; direct dripping) – Instead of using a clearomizer or cartomizer, you simply drip your juice directly onto a cotton around coils on a rebuildable atomizer.
Drip Tip – A mouthpiece, usually plastic or metal, it has an opening for you to draw vapor.
Dry Herb Chamber – Usually a cylindrical tank with an metal casing to allow you to put dry herbs in and usually has a circular flat coil on the bottom looking like this “@”.
Dual-Coil Cartomizers – The new generation cartomizer which has two coils. It provides a higher temperature vapor and bigger clouds.
E-Juice – The liquid that creates the favor which is also known as e-liquid or liquid. It comes in different nicotine strengths and flavors.
E-Liquid – The liquid or juice concoction that is used to vaporize and create vapor. It is made up of vegetable glycerin (VG), propylene glycol (PG), nicotine if necessary, distilled water incase it’s too hard, and of course flavoring.
eGo/eGo Style – A type of electronic cigarette which has created a name for itself. Ego is the most popular digital cigarette and has an ego threading which fits 510 threading.
Electronic Cigarette (e-cig) – An almost new phenomenon that replicates the feeling of smoking cigarettes and is looking to replace it. It is still under many studies but so far it has shown that it has less side effects than a cigarette.
Extreme Q (Arizer) – This table desktop herbal vaporizer from Arizer, a Canadian based herbal vaporizer comapny, is one of its kind. It takes both whip style and balloon bag style attachments with a very accurate temperature control.
FDA – Food and Drug Administration is a branch of the US government that helps regulate the safety of food and drugs sold in the United States of America.
Flavor Cartridge – Another term for a cartridge, containing nicotine and flavors.
Flavors – This refers to the particular flavor of your e liquid.
Flooding – This happens if you overfill your clearomizer or it doesn’t have a rubber seal and it fills into the middle needle that leads to the atomizer. The result of this creates a gurgling noise with efficiency of the vapor affected.
Glass Globe Attachment – A small light bulb like pyrex glass that goes around a ceramic atomizer coil with a wick. It is mostly used for wax or concentrates with a 510 thread connection that is best used with eGo batteries.
Glass on Glass – When glass sits or is placed next to glass. It is usually referred to as the mouthpiece that sits on another glass insert. Glass is recommended more than titanium or ceramic due to the less chances of harmful toxins being released.
Grinder – An aluminum, plastic, or glass jar that is split in half. Each side has small nails or teeth that grind and break down your herbs you throw in there. The two halves rotate and keep breaking your loose leaf dry herbs up.
Heating Chamber – An herbal attachment that is used to heat up and vaporizer loose leaf dry herbs with usually ceramic or titanium atomizer.
Heating Element – The heating element is the reason your favorite herbs and concentrates vaporize. It is the main heat source which is usually steel, aluminum,or ceramic to give it a quick heat up time.
High Resistance (HR) – An atomizer with higher Ohm rating than what you would get on average. This is what helps you set the voltage higher. Ohm refers to the international system of unit for resistance.
HipVap – One of the newer dry herb and concentrate portable vaporizers to hit the market. With its flask style shape, it will keep your actions discreet.
Hit – The inhalation of vapor. Also known as draw or to vape.
ICR – Lithium Ion Cobalt Rechargeable Battery.
IMR – Lithium Ion Manganese Rechargeable Battery.
Inhale – Taking a draw or hit of vapor.

Juice – Another name for e-liquid.
Kanthal Wire – A high-resistance wire from the iron-chromium-aluminum (FeCrAl) alloys that are used in high temperature use. It yields great oxidation resistance.
Kanthal A1 – Kanthal A1 is a high grade type of Kanthal wire which is can withstand higher temperatures and is denser than its sister part, Kanthal D.
King Pen Vapes – The ultimate one stop shop for all vaporizers and vaporizer accessories. Premier place for vaporizers for dry herb vaporizer, concentrates vaporizers, and eliquids.
Leaking – If you don’t tighten your attachment carefully or if there is a seal broken, your clearomizer can leak. One thing you want to avoid is leaking which can cause damage to your battery. It can also happen from overfilling it.
LED – There is a light-emitting diode (LED) is at the end of an electric cigarettes like KR808 that creates a realistic effect of a burning cigarette and also alerts the vaper when the e-cig needs charging. The LED also indicated the auto cut-off.
Liquid – The e-liquid for creating vapor which is also known as e-juice or just juice.
Lithium Ion Batteries (Li-Ion) – Known as the strongest and most powerful battery in the advanced personal vaporizer. They come in various sizes like 18350 or 18650 and forms of shapes. There are many makers of batteries including Sony and Panasonic with some knock off batteries.
Low Resistance (LR) – The opposite of High Resistance. This helps the heating element get hot quicker and creates vapor faster however it does not give dense vapor.
mA – 1/1000th of an amp. This number is most often used in reference to the output of chargers.
Magic Flight Launch Box – The first of its kind, it is a handmade portable dry herb vaporizer. With a small yet powerful heating source, your Magic Flight Launch Box will vaporize your herbs in under a minute.
mAh – Abbreviation for Milliampere-hour, which is used to describe the capacity or energy charge that a battery will hold before it needs to be recharged. The rule of thumb is a battery will last one hour for each 100mAh.
Manual – A vaporizer battery style that has a button to activate the heating element.
Manual Shut-off – A safety feature found on most manual devices that allows the user to turn off their battery with 5 clicks of the button in rapid succession in order to make it safe to transport. You will see it turn on or off when it blinks 3-5 times.
Mechanical Mod (Mech Mod, Mech PV, Mech) – An advanced personal vaporizer that includes no wirings or electricals. It is just a metal tube with a button to activate the battery. Rebuildable atomizers can be used to make them more powerful including the type of batteries they use.
Microcomputer – A smart chip that sends the battery a charge to the atomizer accurately and effectively.
Mighty Vaporizer – Another portable dry herb vaporizer by Storz & Bickel that beats its competitors out of the market. A little bigger than its counterpart, the Crafty, it still gives a precise temperature control with a powerful heating source. It also has its own app to control your very own Crafty vaporizer from your phone.
Mg strength – (Milligram strength per millilitre-(ml) – This is the strength of the nicotine in the e-liquids. It is measured in milligrams. So 12mg of nicotine will be 1.2% nicotine.
Mouthpiece – Where the vaper takes a draw or hit, they do so from the mouthpiece or can also be a drip tip.
Nicotine (Nic) – A colorless and toxic oily liquid that is the main active ingredient in tobacco. It’s the main stimulant that gets you addicted to cigarettes. Nicotine comes in different strengths with effects the nerves. Nicotine is also used in insecticides.
NiMH – Ni-MH is Nickel-Metal Hydride. Nickel-Metal Hydride batteries have no Cadmium added with no memory so it can be charged at any time without affecting battery life.
NRT – Short for Nicotine Replacement Therapy. It is a FDA approved patches, gums, or lozenges to help the body slowly get off nicotine. It is a smoking cessation product which exerts nicotine into your body slowly so you don’t smoke cigarettes.
Ohm (Ω) – It is the international system of units for electrical resistance. The higher the number means the higher the resistance which means it heats up slower.
PEG (Polyethylene Glycol) – A polyether compound that is new but less commonly found in ejuices. It is the replacement of propylene glycol and vegetable glycerin.
Pen Style – Named after smaller cylindrical style vaporizers that look like a ball point pen.
Personal Vaporizer (Abbreviated as PV) – Just a simpler name for a vaporizer or an electronic cigarette, which is not referred to the KR808 styles.
PGA – Pure grain alcohol is the most potent and highest proof vodka you can legally get. 151 proof is the least you will need to thin out the vegetable glycerin, to make sure its not harsh. It can also be used when creating your own flavorings.
Propylene Glycol (PG) – One of the main components of e-liquids including vegetable glycerin, nicotine, flavor, and distilled water if necessary.
Pull – A hit or act of vaping which the vaper draws vapor from the vaporizer.
Rebuildable Atomizer – An atomizer which comes in different forms. Some may have fabric wick while others use mesh, kanthal, or cotton. They are easily fixable and are a fun project to work on. Usually used on mods can be rebuildable dripping atomizer (RDA) and use silica wicks.
Resistance – The measurement of the voltage being applied through the atomizer to get the right wattage. It comes in standard and low variations.
Resistance Wire – The wire or coil used to heat up the heating element and send the electrical current through. It is usually made from Nichrome or Kanthal.
Silica – The wick used in rebuildable atomizers. It has a high melting point so it can handle the temperature and also be cleaned with a torch.

Smart Chip – A computer chip located within the vaporizer battery that allows it to function.

Smokeless Tobacco – Another word for chewing tobacco or snuff. Some people don’t like smoke or have to be away from cigarettes for a while so it is easier to use smokeless tobacco. It is finely ground up tobacco in little packets.
Solo Vaporizer (Arizer) – A portable dry herb vaporizer, the Arizer Solo is a great on the go vape. Very reliable and easy to use, load up your ground up dry herbs, and get to your wanted temperature in under two minutes.
Standard Resistance – Standard resistance cartomizer is typically 3.0ohm. A standard resistance atomizer is 2.5ohm.
Starter Kit – A kit for a noobie that comes ready to start vaping right away. Most of them come with a carry case, a battery, a charger, and a squeeze bottle.
Stick Style – Electronic cigarettes that resemble the look and length of a real cigarette to give you as much as the closest effect of a cigarette as possible.
Tank – A type of cartridge that can hold much more liquid than your average attachment.
Tesla VV Mech Mod – A unique variable voltage and variable wattage mechanical mod. The LCD display shows your desired wattage and voltage with its unique glossy finish.
Throat Hit – The harsh vaper you get and feel in your throat. Some can like it because it replicated the feeling of a cigarette.
Unprotected Battery – An open based battery from lithium that has no protection from overcharging but you need to be careful. They can catch on fire or melt in your pocket causing severe burns.
USB Charger – Usually a 510 threading charger on one side and an usb which goes into a computer or a wall outlet charger.
V-Tower (Arizer) – The Canadian manufacturer, Arizer, has created an economical yet efficient vaporizer for your favorite herbs. The cycle bowl will help with even heat distribution.
Vaper – Someone who partakes in the activity of vaporizing.
Vapir No2 – The Vapir No2 is a dry herb vaporizer that fits snug into the palm of your hands.
Vapor – Condensation that is suspended in the air usually from liquid or a solid. This is what replicates smoke and helps the smoker perceive smoke.
Vaporizer – A fairly recent gadget that is used to turn herbs, liquids, or concentrate into vapor. It is a much healthier alternative to smoking and can help cessate it.
Vaporizer Accessories – Extra upgrades or add-ons to your vaporizer for a better experience. This can be, but not limited to, chargers, batteries, carry cases, atomizers, cartridges, and more.
Vaping (vape) – Inhaling and exhaling the vapor created from a vaporizer.
VG (Vegetable Glycerine) – One of the main active ingredients found in ejuices. It is found in many other day to day foods we eat. It is sweet tasting which is used to sweeten the liquid up. It also helps create bigger vapor effect.
Volcano Classic – The Volcano Classic from Storz & Bickel is what set the milestone for all table desktop herbal vaporizers. It is the king of all herbal vaporizers with its ballon bag style attachment feature.
Voltage – The measurement of the electronic force moving through the coils.
Vubbler – A glass bubbler vaporizer that can be used to filter the vapor like a bubbler. These glasses are built to perfection that can even fit small water pipes. For vaporizers, these are best used with the glass globe vaporizer.
VV (Variable Voltage) – Usually seen on an advanced personal vaporizer like a mod, it helps you control the voltage current going through the atomizers. A regular electronic cigarette has a static voltage and is usually set at 3.0 to 3.3 volts at average. Vairable voltage helps you change that and can be from 3.0V to 6.0V.
VV Mod – A variable voltage mod. Usually has a removable battery and boosted supply. You can change the voltage to find your vaping sweet spot.
VW (Variable Wattage) – A mod or advanced personal vaporizer that allows you to control the wattage that gets accessed to the coils. The voltage power relies on the wattage.
Watt (wattage) – A measure of the electrical operating power used to heat up your coils.
Whip Style Attachment – A long whip like tubing that can be placed over the heating element and slowly start vaporizing. The end part can be 18mm on average and sometimes compatible with other vaporizers.
Wick – Usually a silica cord used in the process of bring the ejuice to the coil, which heats it up and creates vapor. They can come in different materials like cotton, fiberglass, mesh and more.
