The Vivant Alternate is a small, compact vaporizer that can comfortably fit inside the pocket, bag or in your hand. It has a hybrid heating system which is a combination of conduction and convection. The Alternate vaporizer uses a removable Li-ion 18650 battery which can be charged and replaced. You can quickly turn on the vaporizer by clicking the power button located at the bottom. The device also features an LED light at the bottom. You can also adjust airflow to suit your vaping preference.

Ease of use

The Vivant Alternate Vaporizer isn’t difficult to use. If you ever think of a vaporizer that doesn’t need an explanation, then this a thing for you. So simple to use.  It comes with three buttons and a digital display at the bottom. Everything you need to operate the device is at your fingertips, from powering it up to heat control and adjusting the temperature. All you need do is to turn on the device, set your temperature preference, and then hold your power button for 2 seconds to turn on the heater.

Discreetness

In terms of the vapor production, the Vivant Alternate comes with a full range of temperature settings.  If you are in public and wish to stay discreet, just lower the temperature to give thinner vapor. The device is pretty portal and can easily fit into most bags and pocket. But its neon green color design may give you away so ensure you cover the green spots and you’re good to go.

Build Quality  

The Vivant Alternate is a lightweight, portable vaporizer that feels good in your hand. It comes with a foldable mouthpiece that has a hinge. The exterior of the Vivant Alternate Vaporizer is made from plastic materials. The Alternate uses a removable 18650 battery, but not included in the package. The battery compartment is quite close to the heating chamber which makes the battery warm after a vaping session.

There is even a modular herb grinder. This is a 4 piece grinder with 3 chambers that attach to your Alternate magnetically.  This grinder is specifically made as an accompaniment to your device. It is constructed with durable sharp blades to produce a top quality grind and it is molded from a lightweight acrylic composite.

Battery Life

Functionality

How to Use the Vivant Alternate Vaporizer

Using the vaporizer is really easy. You have to install the 18650 battery in its proper position and charge the device using a 1A charger. Allow the device to charge fully.

Load the herbal chamber with ground up herbs. Power on the device by pressing the power button five times in quick succession. Next, you have to set the desired temperature using the + and – buttons. Then hold the power button for two seconds to start the heat up process. As the device is heating up, the LED light will show red, and once the desired temperature has been reached, the light will change to green. 

There is a small, green button at the front of the device which allows you to customize the airflow. Just slide it up or down to increase or decrease the draw resistance.

Temperature Settings

The Alternate Herbal Vaporizer comes with a full temperature setting ranging from 70°C to 220°C (158°F to 428°F). There is a small display screen located at the bottom of the device that lets you view the selected temperature and the current battery life.

You can select the desired temperature by using the + and – buttons at the bottom of the vaporizer. Then press the power button for about 2 seconds to start the heat up.  When the LED turns green, the vaporizer is ready and will stay at the preferred temperature for a minute. A red LED light means the device is reheating. Wait for it to turn green.

Cleaning and Maintenance

Cleaning and maintaining your Vivant Alternate vaporizer is easy and doesn’t require daily cleaning. Turn off the device and remove the battery before you start the cleaning process.

Detach the mouthpiece from the metal airflow assembly by unscrewing it (you can use a coin to do this). After removing the metal airflow, disassemble and brush the mouthpiece using a mixture of  1 part isopropyl alcohol and 1 part water (don’t soak the disassembled parts in the mix, the alcohol could weaken the plastic). When you’re done brushing, rinse the parts with water. Brush out any residue from the heating chamber, or you can use a cotton tip dipped in isopropyl alcohol to swab it clean. Reassemble the parts and screw the airflow assembly.
