You tend to not try to fix something that’s not broken but When a company gets something right, they tend to keep hitting that mark. In this case, a Canadian dry herb vaporizer company, Arizer, came out with one of the most well respected and well known devices in the market. The Arizer Solo has been sitting at the top as one of the best contenders in the space. It was one of the first most efficient true portable vapes before many tried to compete in the same market. Arizer has always had a foot over the competition whether it was desktop units or portable. In this case, the Arizer Solo II vaporizer has recently come out and it is already a best selling unit.

arizer solo 2 vaporizerThe second Solo was released in the month of June 2017. Comparing the first Solo and the second Solo, they look almost identical. The slight difference between the two will be size where the second one is a bit more compact in total size. It is somewhat easier to put it into your pocket than the first. They still are not the most discreet vaporizer compared to competitors of them. They also both feature all glass vapor pathways. The Solo II took pretty much most of the features from the first one and made it a bit smaller. The user interface is definitely different though since it used to be 7 temperature lights but now it is a LED screen. To be exact, the second Solo is about a quarter inch smaller from the bottom and 3/4 of an inch smaller off the top.

Overall, Arizer takes pride in building quality vaporizers. From the atomizers to the batteries to the vapor pathways, everything is durable and reliable. The company even backs up the unit with a 2 year warranty for anything relating to defects or workmanship and a 1 year warranty on the battery. The heating element has a lifetime warranty.

Built from a strong foundation, the Solo II feels indestructible while you hold it. We have even dropped it a few times accidentally and it’s holding up real nice. The only thing we would comment on is the fragile glass stem for the vapor mouthpiece. It is glass which is an advantage to have but overall it can break so you must take the good with the bad. The LED screen is perfectly placed so you can review the temperature you’re heating your herbs at along with how much battery life is left.

One of the most important things to look at in a dry herb vaporizer is the quality in its vapor. The reason you get a vaporizer for the most part is to be health conscious. Well you want to make sure you’re getting quality vapor that does not taste bland or harsh. Some portable units can give off a burnt taste while others will produce hot smoke. The Arizer Solo 2 gives you pure flavor because the heat or vapor don’t come in contact with plastic. They are vaporized in the chamber and sent straight through a vapor pathway.

Weight and Size

Depth 1.38″ / 3.5 cm at top
Depth 1.19″ / 3.0 cm at bottom
Weight 7.4 oz / 210 g

Most vape heads want to know the performance of a vaporizer rather than anything else. Well the Arizer Solo 2 vaporizer shines in the performance department starting with its wide temperature control options. The temperature settings on this range from 122°F to 428°F (50°C to 220°C). You can change the temperature selection by one or 10 degree increments for ease of use also. The good thing is, unlike many new herbal vapes, you don’t need to use a smartphone to control your unit. Everything is controlled on-board so in the case your phones battery is dead or can’t get wifi/bluetooth connection because of technical difficulties, you’re still vaping.

Being quick and time efficient is another feature many overlook but end up worrying about later on because it is taking too long to vaporize their herbs. The Arizer Solo 2 herbal vape vaporizes your herbs in 30 seconds at the most. This means if you want to vaporize at the highest temperature at 428°F, it would only take 30 seconds to get there.

Difference Between Arizer Solo 1 vs. Arizer Solo 2

Cleaning and Maintenancearizer solo 2 mystic blue

It’s always been true that if you want something to last long, take care of it. A vaporizer is no different to that mentality. If you use it often and don’t clean it, your heating element will start to get dirty and filled with residue. If that happens, just get a q-tip and lightly soak it in isopropyl alcohol (91%). Start to rub the parts that are dirty. If it does not come off, do this right after you heat up the unit to its full potential so the chamber is still hot. Dry it off when done then do a couple test sessions to burn off any nasty residual taste.

As for the glass stem, fill up some warm water in the sink or in a bowl and mix it with salt. Place the glass stem in there and let it sit inside for about 2 hours. Move it around and try to clean it in the midst of it. When you have done this a few times, it should be looking almost brand new. Make sure to rinse it off with hot water when you are done to get rid of any leftover salt.

How to Use the Arizer Solo 2 Vaporizer

The first thing you want to do is make sure your vaporizer is charged the 2-4 hours that it is needed. Simply start by pressing the “M” button which signifies Menu button. This menu button is what you use to customize your vapes options and access the main menu. The screen will light up and greet you with a “Hi :)”. It will then start counting down from 6 (unless you change the default). When it gets to 0, you will hear the Solo beep you hear on the first one when it’s turned on. You will then see the screen where you choose your temperature with the temperature you are on being displayed in large numbers in the middle. If you want to change the temperature you can do so by the up and down buttons located directly around the the “M” button.

Making sure your herbs are ground up,start filling the bottom of your glass stem and make sure it is filled. Plug it directly into the heating chamber and let it heat up. In about 30 seconds, it will be ready to start vaping from it. Take slow but deep draws to get the maximum effect.
